Breakfast with the Word Wednesday Holy Week Shorter version.
Matthew 26:14–25 recounts Judas’ decision to betray Jesus, which began after the anointing at Bethany where his frustration and greed were revealed. Motivated by personal gain, Judas sought advantage even at the cost of his Master, showing that betrayal often comes from a desire to benefit oneself without regard for others. His actions remind us that betrayal starts from within and often comes from those closest to us.

Like Judas, we too betray God when we seek fulfillment outside Him, prioritize personal desires over His will, and fail to live according to His love. Holy Week invites us to reflect on our lives, recognize these betrayals, and return to God with sincere hearts.
May God help us and give us the grace to trust always in His guidance and direction. May He never abandon you. Amen
