Daily Inspiration with Fr Sanctus MArio 25
Prayers sometimes are underrated and undervalued because it looks as if the person we are praying to is not truly there to listen to us. This sometimes affects not just our prayers but the way we say the prayers. Sometimes when we go in the presence of people we see as personalities and occupying some certain positions, we tend to accord them much honour than when we go in the Presence of the owner of our lives and our Creator. Sometimes we pray rushing our prayers, sitting down and just reading out a pamphlet either paying attention to the words or not. Many times we pray not just because we want to truly pray, but because we want to fulfill a certain obligation.
Whenever we go in the presence of God, first of all we have to understand that it is God we are coming to converse with. Such awareness demands a lot of humility and respect. Sometimes it looks as if we give men more respect more than we give our God. Imagine how we use to maintain some standards whenever we are in the presence of people seen as well to do in the community and country but when we go in the presence of God, we treat God as if He is nothing. Imagine how eager and thirsty we feel to see some certain celebrities and have a hand shake but when we come in His presence we become so tired and eager to rush our prayers, praying without hunger for God. That God is not seen does not mean that God is not real, and that you do not hear Him speak does not mean He does not listen to you.
When you go in His presence, do not go because others are going. Be convinced that God is truly present. Be confident of this encounter, you will never come out of it that meeting remaining the same. Before you open your mouth and utter any word during prayers, see Jesus real looking at you, envisage the presence of the angels surrounding you like never before. Communicate with God in the spirit because God is spirit and not mechanical. God is real, He answers prayers, He listens because He is also a person. Psalm 145:18 says that the Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. Pray with deep awareness and concentration. Before anyone comes in His presence, he must first of all believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. (Heb 11:6).
May you encounter Him in a special way Amen
