Breakfast with the Word Saturday Week 4 in Ordinary Time of the Year Shorter Version
Mark 6:30-34
Compassion is at the center of Jesus’ life and ministry. In today’s Gospel (Mark 6:30–34), Jesus shows deep concern for His apostles after their demanding mission by inviting them to rest, revealing His sensitivity to their needs and His humble leadership.

Even when the crowd interrupted His rest, He was not annoyed but moved with pity, seeing them as sheep without a shepherd, and He continued to teach and care for them.
Jesus’ actions challenge Christians, especially leaders, to reject bullying, intimidation, and neglect, and instead treat others with love, respect, and brotherhood. He also reminds us of the importance of spiritual rest and personal time with God, where strength, grace, and inspiration are renewed.
By learning from the compassionate heart of Jesus, we are called to live with love, care for others, and remain sensitive to the needs around us.
May God help us to live the life of compassion and be sensitive to our environments. May He also protect you and give you more strength Amen.
