HOLY THURSDAY BREAKFAST WITH THE WORD SHORTER VERSION
Holy Thursday celebrates the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the priesthood, gifts from God that nourish our souls and sustain the Church. Jesus, the Lamb of God, offered Himself as the true Passover sacrifice, giving us His Body and Blood in the Eucharist and commanding us to “do this in remembrance of me.” Through the priesthood, this sacrifice continues in every Mass, reminding us to receive Him worthily and with reverence.

Holy Thursday, also called Maundy Thursday, emphasizes Jesus’ commandment to love one another as He loves us. His washing of the disciples’ feet teaches humility, service, and selfless love, showing that true greatness lies in serving others.
Christ’s actions reveal a deep love and sacrifice: He became food for all and gave Himself completely for our salvation. Yet many neglect this gift and choose division, hatred, and worldly concerns over love and unity.
Today is a call to return to Christ—to receive Him worthily, to forgive, to serve, and to love others sacrificially as He has loved us. May God help us to love the way He loves us and makes Himself food for all. May we continue to experience His love wherever we go. Amen.
