Annunciation Morning Breakfast With the Word
The Annunciation of the Lord is celebrated on March 25th, marking the day when the Angel Gabriel announced to the Virgin Mary that she would become the mother of Jesus.
This event is a symbol of God’s honor and trust in Mary, chosen to bear the Son of God. The gospel reveals Mary’s humble background, living in the small town of Nazareth, a place unimportant in the Jewish world. The angel’s greeting, “Hail full of grace,” indicates Mary’s unique position in God’s plan, prepared without sin to bear Jesus.

Through this encounter, Mary teaches us many lessons: attentiveness to God’s word, a willingness to accept His will, trust, humility, faith, obedience, and a fearless “yes” to God’s call. Her acceptance of God’s plan brought salvation to humanity.
Similarly, our responses to God’s word, whether yes or no, have significant consequences. Just as Mary’s “yes” changed the course of history, so too does our acceptance of God’s word shape our lives.
So, remain strong, accept the word, and live for God. God does not forsake His own.
