Breakfast with the Word Saturday 5th Week Ordinary Time of the Year B Shorter Version
Mark 8:1–10
In the feeding of the four thousand, we see that when human reasoning says there is nothing we can do, God proves otherwise. The apostles focused on the impossibility: too many people, too little food, and no place to buy more. Yet in the presence of Jesus, impossibility is never the final answer. What seems beyond human ability is never beyond God’s power.

Often in life, we face situations that appear hopeless. We ask, “How can this happen?” forgetting that the “how” belongs to God. Just as the Angel told the Blessed Virgin Mary in Luke 1:35, what is impossible for man is possible through the power of the Most High. When we think there is nothing we can do, God already has a plan.
We are called to do our part by offering the little we have—our time, effort, faith, and resources. When placed in God’s hands, even the smallest gift can multiply beyond imagination. The testimony of the young man who moved from despair and homelessness to becoming a dentist reminds us that losing hope in ourselves does not mean God has lost hope in us.
Finally, the crowd received their miracle not because they demanded it, but because they remained in Jesus’ presence. Their hunger drew His compassion. Likewise, no time spent with God is ever wasted.
May God help us and give us the grace to remain close to Him even during challenges. May He continue to protect you. Amen.
