Mark 1 :40–45

The Voice of Prayer Is Never Silent

“The voice of prayer is never silent, nor dies the strain of praise away” reminds us that no sincere prayer or praise offered to God is ever wasted. Every genuine encounter with God has meaning, even when we do not immediately see the result.

God is loving, merciful, and always attentive. He is neither deaf nor wicked, and Scripture shows that Jesus never turned away anyone who came to Him sincerely for healing, help, or mercy. From the wedding at Cana to the repentant thief on the cross, Jesus consistently responds with compassion.

This loving nature of Jesus is clearly seen in the gospel story of the leper. Though rejected by society, the leper approaches Jesus with a simple and humble prayer: “If you are willing, cleanse me.” Jesus immediately responds with love, touches him, and heals him. This shows that being in God’s presence is never in vain, and that prayer does not need to be loud or long to be powerful—faith is what matters.

Prayer is not about forcing God or treating Him like a machine. God is a Father who answers prayers according to His will—sometimes with “yes,” sometimes with “wait,” and sometimes with “no,” all for our good. Even when heaven seems silent, God is still at work.

Therefore, we should never approach God with doubt or a defeated mindset, but with trust and confidence in His love. Truly, the voice of prayer is never silent, and we must never stop believing in God.

Despite whatever that comes against me, I will always believe in my God.
