Breakfast with the Word: Wednesday of the 4th Week of Lent Shorter Version
Human life depends on basic necessities like air, water, and food, but beyond physical life, there is a deeper and more important spiritual life.
After the fall of Adam and Eve, humanity did not lose physical life immediately but was deprived of true spiritual life. This reminds us that while physical life is temporary, spiritual life leads to eternity.

The Gospel (John 5:17–30) reveals that Jesus is the true source of this spiritual life. The Jews failed to recognize who Jesus truly was and opposed Him, even planning to kill Him because He made Himself equal to God. In the same way, many people today misunderstand Jesus because they do not draw close enough to know Him.
Jesus teaches that He works in unity with the Father and has the power to give life. True life is not found in wealth, pleasure, or worldly achievements, but in a relationship with Him. By listening to His word, believing in Him, and living according to His teachings, we receive eternal life.
Therefore, we are called to seek Jesus, remain close to Him, and allow His word to guide our lives, because only in Him can we find true and lasting life.
May God bless you dearest and give you the grace to live a holy life. May all your efforts never be in vain. Amen
