Breakfast With Word. Wednesday 8th Week Ordinary Time Shorter Version
Mark 10:32–45
True greatness is a journey many desire, but it is not a path without challenges. Jesus teaches us that the road to greatness involves sacrifice, suffering, patience, and service. As He journeyed to Jerusalem, He told His disciples about His coming suffering, death, and resurrection, but they struggled to understand because they focused on earthly glory.

James and John desired positions of honor, seeking greatness through status. Jesus corrected them, teaching that there are no shortcuts to true greatness. Real greatness is not about power, wealth, or recognition; it is about humility and serving others.
As Christians, we should understand that life will include difficulties, persecution, and trials. However, our ultimate goal is not worldly success but eternal life with God. Jesus Himself came not to be served but to serve and give His life for others.
Therefore, greatness is found in loving, helping, and serving people. The path may be difficult, but its destination is glorious. May we seek greatness through service and faithfulness to God. Amen.
