Breakfast with the Word Saturday Second Week of Easter Shorter version
After feeding the five thousand, the disciples set out for Capernaum without Jesus and encountered a strong wind on the sea. Though they were experienced fishermen, the storm overwhelmed them, reminding us that no one is exempt from life’s challenges. Just like their journey, our own path in life is filled with uncertainties, struggles, and unexpected trials—this is part of the journey we cannot avoid.

In the midst of the storm, Jesus came to them walking on the water, which first increased their fear. Yet His words, “It is I, do not be afraid,” reveal that even when He seems absent, He is always near. These trials may test our faith and teach us to trust Him more deeply, especially when we feel at a point of no return.
Ultimately, when Jesus entered the boat, there was calm. This shows that true peace comes only through His presence. As we journey through life’s storms, we are called to trust Him, overcome fear, and allow Him to take control, knowing that He cares for us always.
May God bless and give us the grace to overcome our challenges. Amen.
