Breakfast With the Word Wednesday 10th Week Ordinary Time of the Year Shorter Version

Matthew 5: 17-20.

Jesus teaches that He has come not to abolish the Law and the Prophets but to fulfil them. “Abolish” means to destroy, while “fulfil” means to complete, accomplish, and bring to perfection. Therefore, the Old Testament points to Jesus, and its true meaning is realized in Him.

Being a disciple is not just about strictly following the letters of the law but living according to its spirit—through love, mercy, purity, peace, humility, and faith even during trials. True obedience to God transforms hearts and communities, leading to peace and divine progress, rather than mere ritualistic adherence.

Jesus emphasizes that keeping His commandments and teaching others to do the same brings greatness in God’s kingdom. Our lives should reflect His love and example, not just external compliance.

In essence, Live in Christ, guided by love and the spirit of God’s law, not merely by rules.

May God help us dearest live the way He wants. May He continue to protect you from danger Amen
