Breakfast with the Word Solemnity of Saint Joseph Shorter Version
The Church celebrates Saint Joseph, the husband of Mary and foster father of Jesus, who played a key role in placing Jesus in the lineage of David. Though Scripture records none of his words, his life speaks through his actions—marked by complete obedience and dedication to God. Saint Joseph’s life can be summed up as “Everything for God,” showing that true holiness lies in doing God’s will above all else.

To live for God means making Him the center of our lives, allowing His will to guide our choices. Joseph demonstrated this by putting God before his personal plans, trusting divine guidance without doubt, and acting promptly even in uncertainty. Whether accepting Mary, fleeing to Egypt, or providing for his family, he chose God first.
From his life, we learn to live peacefully with others, fulfill our responsibilities, respect one another, give time to God despite our busyness, and always prioritize God’s will over our own desires. Like Saint Joseph, we are called to make God part of our daily lives.
May God have mercy on us and give us the grace to live like Saint Joseph. May we live according to His will and not our own will. Amen.
