What Goes Into the Mind is Very Important. Friday Week 1 in Ordinary Time Shorter Version

Breakfast with the Word Friday Week 1 in Ordinary Time of the Year Shorter Version

Mark 2: 1- 12

What goes into our minds and hearts before, during, and after prayer truly matters. Approaching God requires faith, conviction, and hope—not doubt or fear. In the Gospel, the paralytic and the four men who brought him came to Jesus with deep faith, while the scribes came with doubt. Those who acted in faith experienced healing and forgiveness.

The determination of the four men shows what true faith looks like: focusing on God’s goodness rather than obstacles or unanswered questions.

Their confidence in Jesus brought healing not only to the paralytic’s body but also to his soul. This reminds us that faith—whether our own or that of others—can open the door to God’s power and grace.

God knows our hearts completely. He sees whether we come to Him with trust and love or merely out of habit or doubt. Even when God seems silent, we are called to hold firmly to faith, trusting in His love and power.

What we carry in our minds and hearts when we approach God determines how deeply we encounter Him.

May God bless you dearest, and give us the grace to stand firm despite the seeming challenges. May we never lose hope in Him. Amen
