Mark 7:24–30
In Mark 7:24–30, the story of the Syrophoenician woman teaches us about persistence in faith, especially when it seems like God is silent. Sometimes, when our prayers appear unanswered, we grow tired, discouraged, and tempted to walk away from God. But silence from God is not rejection. It may be a test of our faith, an invitation to trust Him more deeply, and to seek Him not only for what He can give, but for who He is.

The woman, though a Gentile and considered an outsider, refused to give up. Despite Jesus’ initial response, she remained courageous, humble, and persistent. Her faith moved her to stay in God’s presence until her request was granted. Her example reminds us that challenges are not signs to quit praying, but opportunities to strengthen our faith. Often, greater challenges come before greater blessings.
When difficulties increase, it may mean that something greater is ahead. So we must not lose hope or allow circumstances to determine our love for God. Instead, we should remain steadfast, trusting that He knows what He is doing.
Once it is something between you and God, do not conclude yet. Do not run or go away from God. Never get tired seeking His presence. Be there, continue to seek God’s presence. Only God knows what He is doing, and the end is always better.
