Breakfast with the Word Wednesday 14th Week Ordinary Time Year Shorter Version
Matthew 10:1-7
Jesus calls and sends the twelve apostles on a mission to proclaim the Kingdom of God and bring back the lost sheep of Israel. This mission continues through the Church and through each one of us. God is the one who calls, chooses, and gives authority; therefore, whatever we need for His work must be sought from Him through prayer.

The mission of spreading the Gospel is not a task for one person alone. Jesus Himself chose twelve apostles, showing us the importance of teamwork, unity, and supporting one another. Sometimes, the people we struggle with may be the very ones God has placed in our lives to help us fulfil our mission.
The apostles had different backgrounds, strengths, and weaknesses, yet Jesus used them all. This teaches us not to underestimate anyone, because everyone has a gift and a role to play in God’s plan.
Our mission on earth is to touch lives and bring souls back to God. Through our words, actions, encouragement, and kindness, we can help others discover God’s love. May God give us the grace to faithfully fulfil the mission He has entrusted to us. Amen.
