ANGELIC CONNECTION

 

As we mark the beginning of the year, the study of the angels will be a proper way to start our teaching.

The year 2022 comes with hope and expectation and no one knows what it will bring.

A study of the angels will guide us throughout the year and help us whenever we are joyful, confused, lost or even fall out along the path of the year 2022.

ANGELS

The existence of the spiritual, non-corporeal beings that Sacred Scripture usually calls “angels” is a truth of faith.

 

The angels are ministering spirit who stand before the presence of God and are ready to serve him at his command.

 

The knowledge of the angels will help us to know how to get them to our service as we journey in the year 2022.

 

Who the Angels Are?

 

St. Augustine says: “‘Angel’ is the name of their office, not of their nature. If you seek the name of their nature, it is ‘spirit’; if you seek the name of their office, it is ‘angel’: from what they are, ‘spirit’, from what they do, ‘angel.'”

 

With their whole beings the angels are servants and messengers of God. Because they “always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven” they are the “mighty ones who do his word,

hearkening to the voice of his word”.

 

As purely spiritual creature’s angels have intelligence and will: they are personal and immortal creatures, surpassing in perfection all visible creatures, as the splendor of their glory bear’s witness.

 

The Roles of Angels

 

 

The angels have many functions or roles that they play in the lives of human which are not seen with the physical eyes.

 

Outlined below are some of the roles of angels in our lives

 

Guidance

 

The church teaches that a particular angel is place in charge of every individual as his/her guidance angel.

 

The idea behind this teaching is that the guidance angel directs the individual, protect and preserves the thoughts of the individual personally.

 

We can pray to our guidance angels for their help, advise, assistance in any and every thing we do in life, because they are there for us and at our service.

 

The Guidance angels guides us to our destiny and preserve us from all harms and dangers.

 

Protection

 

The angels are there to protect us from harm and evil just like the bible tells us in Psalm 91:11.

 

The angels are stand to defend the children of God from harm and dangers.

 

The angels are wonderful beings that fight both spiritual and physical battles and wins all the time.

 

The angels fight for our own good and our favour.

 

 

Healing

 

The angels care about our well being and sick afar our good stay of mind.

 

They always want us to be in good health and prosper even as our soul grows as in 3 john 2.

 

The angels take our prayers to God whenever we seek his healing. They make sure that we are fine in body and soul.

 

 

Salvation

 

The salvation of the soul should be the ultimate goal of mankind, and the angels are there to direct us this path.

 

When one seeks the kingdom of God and attends it, the angels rejoice and they celebrate.

 

The angels help us in the way of our salvation and brings us to more opportunities to meet God.

 

The Church teaching about Angels

 

Christ is the center of the angelic world. They are his angels: “When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him. ”

 

They belong to him because they were created through and for him: “for in him all things were created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities – all things were created through him and for him.”

 

They belong to him still more because he has made them messengers of his saving plan: “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to serve, for the sake of those who are to obtain salvation?”

 

Angels have been present since creation and throughout the history of salvation, announcing this salvation from afar or near and serving the accomplishment of the divine plan: they closed the earthly paradise; protected Lot; saved Hagar and her child; stayed Abraham’s hand; communicated the law by their ministry; led the People of God; announced births and callings; and assisted the prophets, just to cite a few examples.

 

Finally, the angel Gabriel announced the birth of the Precursor and that of Jesus himself.

 

 

How to Befriend the Angels

 

To befriend the angels means to get close to them for them to be active in your life.

One needs to befriend the angels for them to work for our favours and this can be done in many ways but just to mention a few of them

 

Holiness

 

To be holy means to purify ones thought and mind from sin, to seek the face of God and be at peace with oneself and neighbor.

 

Be a Praise Warrior

 

The angels love praises and they are moved by them just like God. When you want to get the angels to serve you, praise God and they will work for you.

 

Visit the Blessed Sacrament

 

The angels are close to those who adore Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. They love those who are close to Jesus and seek his face.
