Breakfast with the Word Saturday After Ash Wednesday Shorter Version
The reflection on Gospel of Luke 5:27β32 centers on the call of Levi, a tax collector who immediately left his comfortable but sinful life to follow Jesus. Though tax collectors were despised for extorting people under Roman rule, Levi did not allow wealth or status to prevent him from responding to Christβs call.
His transformation shows that no one is beyond change and that nothing should take the place of Jesus in our lives.

During this Lenten season, Jesus calls each of us to repentance. Like Levi, we are invited to listen, obey promptly, abandon sinful habits, and follow Him wholeheartedly.
No one is truly righteous; we all need His mercy and forgiveness. We should not delay reconciliation with God or postpone doing good. The call to change is a call to embrace Jesus again and sincerely say, βI am sorry.β
May God bless you dearest, forgive us our sins and give us the grace to remain close to Him. Amen
